I remember hearing about the day of the handover being rather stormy, too.

Hmm

I just remembered a quote of Marie-Antoinette saying that she was apparently a small archduchess at birth... if that helps.

5'5 .. ohh i guess that would be tall for them .. but not for us... although at 5'7 im considered tall to my friends and thats only a 2 inch difference... but i was justy thinking that it was good that she was tall since Louis XVI was so tall as well . I think i read he was around 1.98 m ... thats like around 6'3. Must have been a giant for their time!

Really?

I was reading parts of this old 70s (I think?) dual biography of Antoinette and Louis and I thought the author said Antoinette was taller, but I guess I was wrong... Hmm. I guess they all would have been pretty big for their time, which is small to our standards today.

Oh my, how large would 'petit' people be??

Of course, she was smaller than her husband ! However, some caricatures show her taller than him, in order to accentuate his purpoted impotence and her purpoted power. This propaganda worked by inversing roles.
