Exact Marie-Antoinette (Marie is not her name  ) is not the main caracter, but she is more realistic and representative of the true Marie-Antoinette that in other films like that of Coppola

And, yes, I can confirm it too, marquis, Marie was not Marie Antoinette's name. Marie was given to all the girls of her family (Marie Therese, Marie Caroline, Marie Christine)... to offer them the protection of sint Marie. Then, the true name of the archduchess follows : Carlotta for Carolina of Naples, Antonia for our Antoinette. When she had to go to France, her name became Marie-Antoinette, which people still use in France while referring to this queen.
But, while writing to her mother, little Madame Antoine always remembered she was Antoinette. In the beginning, she forgot to sign "Marie" and only wrote "Antoinette", and she always received her mother's compliments' on her name's day, on June, 13, for sint Antonio.
