Post Antoinette's voice
I know this may seem like an unusual question, but has anyone else longed to know what Antoinette's voice sounded like? To hear her speak French with that delightful German inflection, to hear her laugh and sing? S'agit-il d'étranges?

I have as well. I imagine that she had a soft voice, very soft spoken.

We actually have one indication about Antoinette's voice, for her harpsichord maker had to put hers one tone lower. So, we can say that Antoinette had a low voice, a mezzo or an alto, no soprano.

Thanks for posting that bit of information. I hadn't known that.

Mon Dieu YES!!

I always wonder how Antoinette sounded in her speech, how beautiful would it be if we all could hear her atleast once in our lifetime!

Some people make fun of her accent (if any have you have seen that take off of Versailles life by French and Saunders- i forget what it was called?) but they made her accent completely German which was of course wrong as she spoke fluent French and in the end could not speak German at all am I right?!

I like to think she had a sweet voice that was light hearted and kind, yes I really believe that sort of voice would suit her!

Thats fascinating and very nice to know! I've always preffered female singers with lower voices too
