Well, not personally however royalty did have servants that practically raised the children themselves or governesses.

Wealthy people could simply hire nannies. And for the less fortunate have the older siblings help the younger siblings, in modern terms.

this is true, i had a nanny until i was 7. she was portugeuse but i learned a bit of the language ;] its still sad that most people still do this

My famiy had au pairs and a nanny but that is only because my family is large and I was a small child at the time.

yes maam! i take it you are too? my sister and i coordinate each other. so at any point in time our hair is always the same color, we dye it different shades of brown alot. :]

For me Maria Theresia was one great ruler, one smart and wise woman, very reasonable and we can see that from her relationship with her daughter.

Since you are very interested in her, can you tell me something interesting from her private life? I know that she had 16 children but did she have lovers? I know for her military reforms, for her enlightened absolutism but not so much about her personality and youth. Teach me! I will try to find some interesting detail about her and post it also.
