 any good portraits to use????

Post any good portraits to use????
hello,
i was just wondering if anyone knew which portraits i should use for my major of marie antoinette.
i was planning to use three - four main portraits that i could later talk about.
the question is: How did Marie Antoinette impact on the French government and the people of France through her various royal portrayals?
if anyone thinks i should rewrite my question, please do give me suggestions as this would be greatly appreciated.
thanks :D

you can look through the galleries on the homeopage to find some.
i suggest you use,
la reine en gaulle
la reine en rose
to show her chnaging style
and her portraits as dauphine and queen.
your question is very nice.

I strongly suggest you read 'Queen of Fashion' by Caroline Weber as it gives many fascinating insights into the political ramifications of the Queen's dress. Oh and do include a picture of la reine in a redingote.

I think this one is most important paintings of her since it was intended as a political statement for the people of france.

I dont know a lot about it's meaning, but after watching a few documenteries on Marie Antoinette I learned...

- that she chose to have her neck bare in a response to the alleged necklace affair.

- She chose to wear a simple gown to reflect her taste for the simple life. opposing her false over indulgent, highly extravagant, "queen of deficit" image.

- And most importantly she chose to be surrounded by her children (or lack there of), (primarily her son), as a reminder to the people of france that she had given them an heir.

I know there's a lot more to this painting than just that.

Yes, it's very interesting to see how the way the queen was represented in portraits could have political meaning. I also think this portrait is very significant from that point of view, representing her in her function of Mother of France. I also read that the colours used have a meaning; I can't remember if red was considered the colour of royalty, does anyone know?

there are many royal colors.
for example;
the egyptians chose turquoise, purples red and gold
where as the bourbons used primarily royal blue.

Ok, thank you! But I'm pretty sure the red had a meaning here...but I can't remember which one!
