Post The end of Versailles
Imagin sitting there, your mother suffering of illness trying to beg for bread to give her children and your farther away at war which you hvae heard nothing of. You look out of your window and jus over the other side of the fence there is a great party going on people in costume and eating cake and drinking wine thorowing food at each other playing game, is it no wounder why the french revolution happend? .
In 1789 the mob attacked the Palcace of Versailles demanding that Marie Antoinette was excuted in front of the mob of people who had already taken the lifes of many on there way. The Queen was indeed the only brave one in the palace, her and her two maids in her bed chamber prepaired them selfes. who cared that there was a mob outside? the tradition of how to drees a Queen was followed by the two maids who were shacking whilst attending there mistress Marie Atoinette saying "Dont be afraid paulene". Going threw the secret passage way getting the children and entering the bedchamber of the king with the shouting "Death to the Queen" outside the window. The children cryed and the King stood in stance however, the King who had complained 14 years earlia that the crown was hurting him was terrorfied. Maire who tightly holded her children around her got up and walked to the bacony when on the balcony there were screams off "Shoot her". Mens heads were on pikes, what Marie Antointte must have felt. She simply bowed to the mob. As she did this people were confused as they had been told the Queen was ripped apart in her bed, not alive, and seeing her angerd the mob who thoght she had been murded. But there she was the Queen on the balcony why was know on shooting her? they could now kill the woman they hated but they did not open fire, The Queen was greeted mt a royal attended on the balcony and then re endert the palcace.

The Royal familly went back to Paris the next morning for there own safety, or was it safe? why di no one shoot? who siad that they had killed the Queen is cold blood? the fall of Versailles was indeed a night of twists and confusion.

Look at our discussion about the revolution; I think that we may have a similar view. Actually, revolutionary didn't want that the things go too far. Starvation and wish for revenge made the revolution as bad as it was, as the arrogance and thoughtless from the other side.

Of course I don’t approve it but I can understand it. Don’t get me wrong, the society wasn’t that developed and the history of events that kind, that involved the change of rulers, was not less bloody. The court pronounced Louis XVI guilty for the betrayal and that was legal for them, as Louis XVI could legaly do for some disloyal rival earlier. Marie A. died just because the hate of people, without any real evidence and she was just a kings wife – widow Capet – nothing without her husband. It didn’t end just on ruining the monarchy, killing the monarch, but the thousand other people had died. Cruelty and fanaticism were so great that they had managed to overcome the true ideals of the revolution (freedom, better society based on equality…) Yes revolution went to far but not because the nature of its goal, but the nature of the mob (see the mob psychology  ).
