Post Petit Trianon, Modern Style.
What would it look like today, if MA were to go back and re-decorate?
i know whatever it would be, would be marvelous.
Maybe she would adopt modern style?
or stay traditional?
opnions?

this also helps me decide in which way to decorate my own trianon. :]
thanks everyone :)

Yes it would be marvelous.
I think that if Marie Antoinette were to decorate The Trianon today, she would let the function lead the fashion, as she did before. She loved to escape there, and to entertain friends. She had a casual elegance that was relaxed in an unheard of way for royalty before that. I think she would have put in a large patio by now, and a swimming pool and hot tub. I think her pool would be in a grecian shape to mimic Hadrian's pool with a "ruin" at one end. I think also she would have one of those gazebos hung with white curtain, and netting. I also think she would love some of the new patio furniture, like a comfortable conversation grouping. and certainly a large table with big comfortable chairs that swivel and rock. A fully equipped out door kitchen with a big stainless grill! don't forget the fire place. I also think she would add romantic touches to this, like suspended chandeliers with lit candles in them. I don't think she would include a television out there however; but certainly a fantastic sound system. Also, tons of her white ceramic MA pots with tons of flowers overflowing out of them. Everything cornflower blue, pink and white. The dishes for her out door entertainment area, the white Marie Antoinette set by Daniel Cremieux, and crystal stem ware for her favorite water.

i think she would stay semi-traditional with some of the rooms and modern in others but either way all of the rooms would be extremely extravagant.

elle that was a wonderful vision, thank you.
petit trianon, in my opnion would have to be completely re-vamped for anything to change, the way its set up means that you almost have to stay withing the style of the times.

Yes, I agree. I think she would have chosen something quite simple, not too extravagant, but refined at the same time. Quality materials, and light colours. And the garden: she would have cared about the garden very much, because, as Elle said, she would have thought of receiving friends frst of all. And all would be done with good taste.

An update;
We are currently in the process of building a scale model of the Trianon!
I will post pictures when the work is complete!
However; I am changing a few things!

-The salle des bains, will be modernized.
-The rooms on the attic story will be made larger, and some rooms thrown out.
-The salle a manger will have the tables rise from the floor, as orginally planned.
-Every window will have a mirror covering during the night, and when the sun is too bright

There are more too come I am sure, I'm very indecisive, and want this to be PERFECT!!!

I'd hope so. Thank you.
3 of my aunts have diabetes, 2 friends have it as well.
2 grandparents, and 1 uncle.

1 of my aunts died from lung cancer, and my dad has skin cancer.

It's quite alright. :]

Did you know that above the queens apartment in the Petit Trianon, and under the kings apartments there is a mezzanine floor where Lamballe, and the Princess de chimay slept? There is also a library here.

I didn’t know that.
You must explain me the whole Versailles some time.
