The complete epigram was:
Bella gerant alii, tu, felix Austria, nube.
Nam quae Mars aliis, dat tibi diva Venus.
Translation:
Let others wage wars, you, happy Austria, marry.
What Mars brings to others, the goddess Venus brings to you.
The first line is often used as a motto, and it seems it originated around the 15th century.
There was also another motto of the Hapsburg, abbreviated in the acrostic A.E.I.O.U., which meant: "Austriae Est Imperare Orbi Universo", which means: "It is for Austria to dominate on all the world".
