We share the same attitude but I think that often women themselves define their role. Even women today mostly have a chance to educate properly, many girls that I know are too lazy or uninterested to study or develop themselves by learning a language or some skill that may help them for the future employment and independence.

That's precisely the problem. We have all of these rights, and then we disregard them. Versus having a college/university education. Women tend to think " Oh I'll marry a rich man." and then skip university education. It's a bit ironic.

Can you please provide some examples you know of women deliberately ignoring education and opportunity?

Ok, here are a few examples from my surrounding:
- One girl I know (my age) had decided to get marry and don’t want to sign anything after high school. She finds it ok. not to work at all because her man can provide her anything she wants. The second reason is that life is too short and in front of God we are all the same so it’s useless to study.
- My second friend has a dream to marry a football player so she is visiting football games regularly. Her grades got bad but she is popular and happy.
- Half of the girls from my class are looking to sign a college in less developed cities because it is easier to finish it.

And all of them are from normal families and have a possibility to be supported through the studies. The thing is they are mostly lazy and more interested in boyfriends and being pretty, incapable to organize themselves and have it all.
Luckily there are many intelligent, independent women but they are a minority. I hope that situation is different in your countries, especially among the young women and their priorities.

Good Lord! Even if I do marry a wealthy man I would still work, to keep myself from being too idle! And to keep myself away from trouble and drama. I'm hoping I'll make a lot of money if I work my butt off. And then I'll marry a wealthy man, so our wealth can be combined! When I have children I'll stop working or maybe I'll have a part time job. Or when my children are old enough to attend school for a full day I'll take up a part time job just so I won't get too bored and have some money. I know I'll work at least a year or so before I'll marry.


My philosophy is work your butt off now and you can play later, for longer.

This is exactly the problem. Speaking about Italy, the model which society (that is, media, TV, newspaper, etc.) gives for a man is that of a brilliant, successful man, while for a woman is just a beautiful, attractive woman. Girls grow up thinking they will be appreciated if they look pretty and dress according to fashion, and that seems to be all that counts. Sometimes I'm very sad about this and I wonder: can't we propose a different model to our girls?
In this way, I find a return of masculinism, even if in a different way. Once it was shown above all through a limitation of behaviour for women in the spheres of relationships and sex: they had to be chaste and humble and submit themselves to their husbands if they had to be considered "respectable". Today, with the new sexual freedom, women are encouraged to develop the provocative part of themselves, and the image of women is sadly often reduced to an attractive thing. The personal development and growth of woman is often neglected.

I am very attracted to intellect and when it comes to men I find it more important than the physical beauty. Charm and knowledge works like a magnet for me. When it comes to fortune I find it important as a confirmation of someone abilities and working habits.
I like freedom, possibility to decide and not relay on anyone - economically and mentally.

So I am I. If I can find a teenage male who I can have an intelligent conservation, that my parents approve of I'll be happy.

I'm not sure whether you can ever narrow it down to countries or race, but in Australia there have always been plenty of opportunities for women and most do take a job at least, with many succeeding at university even more so than men. Of course there are women here that just want to ensnare a man for the easy life, but I think this would be the case anywhere. <---just wanted to use this cute smilie!
