You said they were the first set, do you have anymore, I would love to see more. I remember reading an article about her and she was quoted as saying that protraying Marie-Antoinette was the greatest role of her life.

MGM was planning to make the film when the producer Irving Thalberg, Norma's husband, suddenly died. The production was postponed and two years later Norma made efforts to make the film. I guess it reminded her of the beloved husband

I heard it was intended to be mad ein color, and thats why all the attention to detail on the dresses, was so wonderful.

The wedding dress, "The gown was created from over 500 hundred yards of satin, weighing in at a whopping 108 lbs." That must have been difficult to wear but it was gorgeous. Does anyone know if the wedding gown was accurate or close to being accurate to Marie-Antoinette's, I have never read a description of her wedding gown.

Yes but they had to film it in black and white so MGM wouldn't go bankrupt. I wish they would color it.
