Is the bed the Queen Marie Antoinette's room authentic ?

Post Is the bed the Queen Marie Antoinette's room authentic ?
I'm having a debate with someone. She maintains that the bed in the Queen's room is the same one Marie Antoinette slept in. I maintain that only the wall decorations are truly authentic and all the furniture, including the bed, is a period replacement or a reproduction. Who's right? Can anyone help with this question?

I don't have any references to point to, but I think you are right. After Versailles was vacated, all the remaining furniture and furnishings were sold and auctioned off. (Some nobility carried off their furniture to their country homes and painted it white to hide the gilt.)

Go to the horse's mouth if you really want to know. Versailles has a Web site, and I am sure there is a "Contact us" button somewhere. Contact them and ask.

I think yes! If you understand French, here you are a link: http://www.chateauversailles.fr/fr/111_ ... Glaces.php
You can find the answer down below.
"On la voit aujourd'hui comme elle était au moment où Marie-Antoinette quitta Versailles en 1789." -About the Queen's bedroom.
