 Novel featuring Madame Elisabeth

Post Novel featuring Madame Elisabeth
Recently, I re-discovered a novel featuring Madame Elisabeth, which I remembered reading in high school: "The incorruptible: a novel of revolution and royalty" by Helma de Bois, published in 1965.

While it is of doubtful history, per se (the premise involves a half-brother and -sister; the former, a friend of Robespierre, the latter a friend of Madame Elisabeth), it makes for exciting reading and the author has done her homework well, nicely capturing the flavor of revolutionary Paris, and, what is more to the point here, creating a plausible portait of Madame Elisabeth, a much-overlooked character, and one who, in my opinion, is long overdue for a contemporary biography.

The Library of Congress's online catalog will turn up some books on Mme Elizabeth.
