Post Bonjour from Chicago!
Hi everyone!

I'm so glad to have stumbled on this web site and am eager to join in the discussions with people who are as passionate about Marie-Antoinette and French history as I am!I've always been fascinated by European history, but my interest in Marie-Antoinette has predominantly been a personal, rather than academic, one. (That said, my current research project focuses on the creation of the Marie-Antoinette legend, so I suppose that doesn't really apply anymore!) In any case, I really became interested in her life after reading Chantal Thomas's "Les adieux à la reine" when I was in high school.

Other interesting things about me -
I am bilingual (French and English) and have a reading knowledge of Latin, which is actually more useful than I thought it would be. I studied art history and French lit at university, and I'm working on an MAT in history education at the moment. I really love to knit and scrapbook, so I'm always working on some kind of crafty project when I'm not working or doing homework!

You all seem like such a wonderfully knowledgeable and friendly group, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you!
