This all sounds great!!!
From the description you all gave, I understand it had to be a very touching experience; and actually, living those events from "the inside" must be very different from reading about them.
Thank you for your reports and the photos, they were more than interesting!

Watching those pictures, I have to ask... Baron, Lilly, Marija- how did it feel stepping on the stairs whereat she had ascended once? It must had been an amazing experience for you all !! :o

For me the most amazing thing was to see that so little had changed. That little courtyard is now used as a drinks terrace for the law court attornees...in sublime indifference to MA's and others' suffering in front of those few steps. The whole experience was like a timewarp: we can in Paris still see many things almost exactly as she witnessed them.

It was almost as if time stood still for but for moment. It was very emotional to know what had happened right there - the terror which must have come over MA on that spot. The sight of the tumbril - the embarrassment of having to relieve herself in the corner, having to compose herself and face the inevitable.
I feel sad that there is no regard for this spot as Baron said, it's a little patio. I'll bet most people who sit there probably have no clue as to what took place there.

A well known print and really very accurate apart from the dark coloured dress.

Thanks for sharing that picture - I don't remember seeing it before. I drifted back to that day - Baron couldn't have said it better. Even now, seeing that spot where MA stands - knowing that we stood in her footsteps. Very emotional.
