Post Fontainebleau
Only for your eyes  , I propose to you a short visit of Marie-Antoinette's appartment in the castle of Fontainebleau.

FYI (and just in case !!!), Fontainebleau was an old royal residence, near Paris, modified in its structure by all the kings since Francois 1er, and used as a fall stay by the French court since Louis XIV  .

The officialweb site : http://www.musee-chateau-fontainebleau.fr/

Maybe we could start wit the Queen state bedroom (I guess that Pimprenelle has posted a picture of it already :D , anyway) :

The bed was ordered by and designed for the Queen, but delivered after the French Revolution, and used at first by Empress Josephine.

The Queen's Gambling room, part of her state rooms, furnished as it was in 1788 :

Some details of one of the chest of drawers, by Benneman :

For the records, the same, as an Audience room for Emperess Marie-Louise :

The Queen's Boudoir, part of her private rooms ; please note how right the color and design of the furnitures match the ones of the panelling :

If anyone wants further particulars, don't hesitate to ask me :D .

Your faithfully,

Stormont

Indeed it appears that it's splendid too!

As Marie-Antoinette often went there, there are several pieces of furniture which belonged to her exposed to Fontainebleau.

I'm in a hurry too to see them! :P

Thank you so much for the beautiful photographs! One of my favorite rooms of the Queen's is her boudoir at Fontainebleau; I believe it was designed by the Rousseau brothers on the theme of the pearl.

Thank you again! :D

Wow, these pictures are amazing. I find it kind of rude to think that josephine used a bed ordered by MA that she never got to use...
Speaking of which, has anyone seen the A&E mini-series "Napolean?"
it has Isabella Rosellini as Josephine, and in one part, the couple are touring the Tuileires, and they are shown MA's apartments, and josephine says she feels like the place is haunted, and she hopes they have changed the sheets. Does this have any historical fact to it?
