 Hello to all! Hello to all! Just wanted to introduce myself as a new member to the forum. As the name "History Detective" implies, I am fascinated with history. Eighteenth Century history is my particular passion, and I am currently researching the life of Marie Antoinette for a writing project. I'm looking forward to learning much about her and about the royal court, and I will no doubt have many questions for you all. Can't wait to start posting!

High school literature class introduced me to A Tale of Two Cities, and I have had an interest in all things 18th Century France ever since (that was a very long time ago, by the way). Currently, I'm working on a writing project that requires me to do a great deal of research about Marie Antoinette, and as I was looking up some information on the Internet I came across this wonderful forum site. I've been doing a lot of reading about Marie Antoinette and about Versailles--and it's been very helpful that I know a little of the French language, or I think I'd be really dead in the water with my work. I'm hoping you all might be able to help me with some questions that so far I have not found answers to.

He is not buried in the place he is reported to be in Paris - I have gone looking for him with no success! Anyone got any idea where Nicholas Fouquet is?

He is not there.
