Go ahead. I don't think I'll be able to take part in the club so I have to bow out.))

Post Re: So um the book club
I recieved the book Godfather of the Revolution and have started reading it.....usually I like to check out the author before starting a book but was only able to find minimal information about Ambrose. Only a third of the way through, I am already having a few issues with what I am coming across in this book. First, Ambrose says that Louis XVI's coronation was in Paris - then he says that Marie Antoinette gave birth to a son on December 18, 1778. These are basic facts and I don't see any reason that a serious author would get this wrong. These kind small mistakes put an author's credibility on the line. He also does not cite anything although he does include a bibliography. I'm going to finish the book as it is my first on the Duc d'Orleans. I'd like to understand a little better who he was.
