And it was much better for Marie-Antoinette, who loved children, but who did not wish in to be girded too early when she was young Queen

Hello,
Yes. The book is "Secrets of Marie Antoinette" (it is said to be a collection of her letters to and from her mother). I have not yet read it.
You read French no doubt, and have the upper hand

I skimmed the Erickson and have to say I agree with you. Thank you.

You are welcome!!! It draws a great deal from Madame de la Tour du Pin's memoirs which can be interesting, but then she draws conclusions about the queen which don't fit with the portrait she had been building.

I already read Erickson lol. It was the second MA Bio I had ever read. The first was Desmond Seward's.

lol nope. I barely remember it actually...although that happens to me at times. like I know I read half of Vincient Cronin's "Louis and Antoinette" but I don't remember exactly what different info I got from it. I never got to finish it unfortunately someone else at the library put it on hold and I hadn't finished it
Its on my to buy list lol
