"tremenda" passive verbal adjective does only implicates an obligation. The subject (Eva) is passive, meaning that this obligation does not fall upon her. Others have to fear her. Should those others be mentioned, they would be with the agent dative.

There is nothing that grammatically implicates any "need" for Eva to be feared. Be sure I would never write such things ! For women do not need to be feared. They only need to exist as equals to men. That is pure logic, dear.

ah, now I see -

please bear with me:wink: I had used one of those compute translators and got this literally:

"Eternal Eve who it will always be necessary to fear"

Indeed, the passive adjective implicates obligation. To make it short, you can form it from any Latin verb. Tremere --> tremendus, a, um. The more appropriate way to translate it would be "to be feared". Thus, Eva to be feared. Amare --> amandus, a, um. Eva amanda : Eva to be loved. And so on...

Sorry for getting on my high horses, dear. But you are talking to a true feminist, here !

Maria Antonia amanda... about this, we would agree ! :D

Nevermind, I just found an entire thread devoted to this show _ as usual I am "a day late and a dollar short' for the conversation. :(

Hi, my friends ! I remember we once had a discussion about October days. We wondered whether the mob destroyed Marie Antoinette's room or not. I said they did not, but could only provide one reference for this information, by Simone Bertière who quotes Mme Campan.

Now, surfing random, I found another reference, from the French forum "Passion Histoire" :
http://www.passion-histoire.net/phpBB_F ... 28&start=0

Following our "marie antoinette", the mob did not enter the queen's room, it is stated in the Chatelet archives. And the lady writing with this wonderful name and pretty avatar is a true specialist of Marie Antoinette.

I would never contradict your information, Pimprenelle dear, but I am just wondering why Madame de Tourzel said that the mob did enter the queen's room and slash her bed. Madame Campan said it did not happen, but then she was away from the palace. Do you think Madame de Tourzel was so traumatized she exaggerated a bit?
