I don't know either which flavour she preferred, dear... I assume she drank tea for, in the Tuileries, she used to receive and send messages hidden in tea boxes.

She enjoyed blackeberries and vanilla. She had a bad nervous condition, so, she might drink relaxing theas, such as camilla and vervena... ? I guess she did not like bitter flavour too much, for she drank her coffee with milk. So, did she enjoy English strong teas ? I wonder... She also loved orange water. Maybe she poured orange water in her tea... perhaps in mint digestive tea ? It is so good...

Long time ago I have read an article in press about French court during MA times and they mentioned about it also in the context of Marie Antoinette. But I don't remember from where they got the tea, probably from Chinese traders ...
Besides if I am not wrong there was even something mentioned about it in the Coppola film ! (by the way, wasted script, in my opinion). Jasmine flower in the cup of tea offered to her brother - scene?

a very kind friend helped me translate so i'll just pop it on here unless anyone else fancies trying to make it...

The chocolate triples vanilla with the violet and blackcurrant of Marie-Antoinette

For 6 people
1 liter of water
300 G of sugar
6 vanilla pods
300 G of standard chocolate cover
1 spoon with soup of blackcurrant cream
Extract of violet

To make:
boil water, the sugar and 6 pods of vanilla split into two in the direction length.
To let boil 5 min, then to infuse 10 min.
To break the chocolate out of dice, then to dissolve it with the bain-marie.
To withdraw the vanilla pods.
Using a knife, to remove seeds and to give them in syrup.
To mix with the chocolate melted using a spoon out of wooden and to give on fire.
To let boil 5 min.
To add to the last moment 4 drops of extract of violet and 1 spoon with soup of blackcurrant cream.
To be useful in the cup and to drink very hot.

delicious! :D
